Nyet on Soviet Cameras

Before it collapsed the Soviet Union had its own internal infrastructure of technology:  cars, planes, and yes, cameras. Many of these cameras were (by Western standards) weird-looking, shoddy and downright horrible. Some were quite good though, and that… more »

Guess Sinatra's Camera

With the recent passing of the legendary Joe Frazier I found this post at the MSNBC Photoblog. Sure it's pretty interesting that Sinatra shot 'The Fight of the Century' for Life magazine, that Norman Mailer wrote an article and that Burt Lancaster did so… more »

Nikon D800

The rumour is (and it is only a rumour) that Nikon will soon release a D800 spec'd at a resolution of 36 megapixels. Price is supposed to be around $4000 US. Without going into the nitty-gritty of how Nikon tends to release cameras, I would guess this… more »

The Rockwell X100

It sounds like I'm referring to an old spy plane or jet prototype, but I just mean Ken Rockwell has reviewed the new Fujifilm X100. Sure you hate him, but lots of people are interested in this camera so I thought I'd link to his take. If you're in Toront… more »
