The Big Picture No Longer So Big

I've observed to myself the last few months that Boston.com's The Big Picture hasn't been nearly as good as it used to be, and observed right in these pages that The Atlantic has started a similar photo blog. It turns out these two developments are directly related because it seems that Alan Taylor, who used to edit The Big Picture, moved last January (Do'h!) to The Atlantic to start In Focus. It's amazing how one editor can make such a difference because without him The Big Picture is now, well, quite lame. Should I keep better track of all this stuff? Hey, I can't know everything people.

Here's Alan Taylor's In Focus cull of pics related to the death of the world's loneliest dictator, Kim Jong Il.
