Milton Rogovin Passes

I didn't see much point in commenting on the death of Milton Rogovin since it got lots of mention in the press. The NYT Lens blog seems to have the best wrap-up and links to his work.

What changed my mind in terms of commenting was the realization that even though I've been halfway around the world and lived on the other side of the continent I've never once been to Buffalo. That's pretty strange considering I grew up in Toronto. I suspect a lot of Torontonians have never been to Buffalo either, except maybe to visit an outlet mall.

One other strange postscript:  a few articles about Rogovin mention he used to  use a large format Hasselblad...when there's no such thing as a large format Hasselblad and never has been.
