B & H in Canada
The world's largest camera and photography store, B & H in New York, now offers direct shipping to Canada through Purolator. This means that when you order your custom's brokerage fees, provincial sales tax, etc. are included in the order ahead of time so you know exactly what you're going to be paying. In the past you'd have to pay these fees by cheque when the UPS or FedEx guy brought your stuff to your door. This is a big deal, because no matter how much you might want to shop Canadian there's still all kinds of stuff that's simply not available here and that you can only get in New York. And remember that there is no actual duty on photography equipment coming in from the U.S., so the broker's fee is nominal, usually only a couple of bucks.
Not sure when they actually started this. I just happened to notice recently when I was drooling over my newly-arrived B & H Christmas catalogue.
