Damn Northern Lights

About a month ago there were news stories announcing there'd be a huge flare-up in the solar wind that creates the northern lights.  So naturally enough like a big dope I went out with my camera and wasted half a night looking up at absolutely nothing.  It's the resultant and still owing sleep deficit which makes me so annoyed that some other guys managed to get images like these.
